Sodic saline soils or soils irrigated with saline waters and overexploited soils, where fertilization has been abused, have a tendency to accumulate inorganic salts, which bring as a consequence, at a chemical level, an increase in the electrical conductivity of the soil and a considerable reduction of the cation exchange capacity (CEC) and, at a physical level, there is also a loss of its structure, the soil becomes impermeable and oxygenation is reduced to minimum levels.
The increase in conductivity leads to changes in the osmotic pressure of the soil/root system, which makes it increasingly difficult for the plant to absorb water and nutrients, in extreme cases it even causes the opposite effect, water from the plant to the soil. In turn, the excess of salinity causes not only the loss of absorbent hairs, but also causes poor root development, which translates into lack of vigor in the plants, necrosis and malformations in the leaves and, therefore, a considerable reduction in production. This set of disorders makes the soil unviable for many agricultural crops.
Sal-fit is a desalination and regenerator of the soil, based on Calcium and Polyhydroxycarboxylic Acids, which has the ability to restore the soil, making it suitable for cultivation. The Calcium present in the Sal-fit formulation displaces the salts that are toxic to the plant, moving them away from the root system and, what may be more important, the Polyhydroxycarboxylic Acids revitalize the soil, thereby increasing the CEC and increasing the level of assimilable nutrients. Sal-fit returns to the soil the structure lost due to the effect of salinization, increases its biological activity and increases the efficiency of fertilization.
Sal-fit must be added periodically throughout the entire crop cycle, the greater the application is divided, the better the result is obtained. The best application method is through the fertigation system. The dose to be used should be based on the salinity of the soil or the irrigation water.
The periodic contribution of Sal-fit improves the physical-chemical conditions of the soil, optimizes fertilization, facilitates the development of plants and increases production, that is, it increases crop yield.
